چکیده
Under the sole assumption of non-degeneracy of the continuous solution and the knowledge of an U-error estimate, we prove rates of convergence in measure{and in distance) for the approximate fiee boundanes, they are defined as suitable level sets, hence easy to compute The results at e apphed to the primai and mixed formulation of the obstacle problem and to singular parabohc problems {the two-phase Stefan problem and the porous medium équation) in several variables Résumé — Nous démontrons ici des résultats de convergence en mesure et en distance pour des frontières libres approchées, sous la seule hypothèse de non dégénérescence de la solution continue et en supposant connue V estimation de V erreur LF, les frontières approchées sont définies comme des ensembles de niveau appr opr lés et donc faciles à calculer Les résultats sont appliqués aux formulations prvnale et mixte du problème de Vobstacle et à des problèmes paraboliques singuliers à plusieurs variables d'espace {le problème de Stefan à deux phases et les équations des milieux poreux)

Application of Decoupled Scaled Boundary Finite Element Method to Solve Eigenvalue Helmholtz Problems (Research Note)
A novel element with arbitrary domain shape by using decoupled scaled boundary finite element (DSBFEM) is proposed for eigenvalue analysis of 2D vibrating rods with different boundary conditions. Within the proposed element scheme, the mode shapes of vibrating rods with variable boundary conditions are modelled and results are plotted. All possible conditions for the rods ends are incorporated ...
متن کاملFree Vibration Analysis of a Sloping-frame: Closed-form Solution versus Finite Element Solution and Modification of the Characteristic Matrices (TECHNICAL NOTE)
This article deals with the free vibration analysis and determination of the seismic parameters of a sloping-frame which consists of three members; a horizontal, a vertical, and an inclined member. The both ends of the frame are clamped, and the members are rigidly connected at joint points. The individual members of the frame are assumed to be governed by the transverse vibration theory of an ...
متن کاملTheoretical, numerical, and experimental analyses of free vibrations of glass fiber reinforced polymer plates with central cutouts and free boundaries
This study explored the free vibration problem in relation to glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) plates with central cutouts and free boundaries using theoretical, experimental, and numerical methods. The theoretical formulations were derived from the classical lamination plate theory. The rectangular cutout was mathematically modeled into the stiffness matrix of the plate by multiplying Hea...
متن کاملCoupling Nonlinear Element Free Galerkin and Linear Galerkin Finite Volume Solver for 2D Modeling of Local Plasticity in Structural Material
This paper introduces a computational strategy to collaboratively develop the Galerkin Finite Volume Method (GFVM) as one of the most straightforward and efficient explicit numerical methods to solve structural problems encountering material nonlinearity in a small limited area, while the remainder of the domain represents a linear elastic behavior. In this regard, the Element Free Galerkin met...
متن کاملFree and Forced Vibration Analysis of Functionally Graded Material Cylinders by a Mesh-Free Method
In this paper, free and forced vibration analysis of functionally graded material cylinders was carried out by mesh-free and finite element method. In this analysis, MLS shape functions are used for approximation of displacement field in the weak form of motion equation and essential boundary conditions are imposed by transformation method. Resulted set of differential equations are solved usin...
متن کاملA New Finite Element Formulation for Buckling and Free Vibration Analysis of Timoshenko Beams on Variable Elastic Foundation
In this study, the buckling and free vibration of Timoshenko beams resting on variable elastic foundation analyzed by means of a new finite element formulation. The Winkler model has been applied for elastic foundation. A two-node element with four degrees of freedom is suggested for finite element formulation. Displacement and rotational fields are approximated by cubic and quadratic polynomia...
